Today Sat. Nov. 14, 2009, I joined Naoki-chan's birthday party. Naoki-chan is the son of my ex-coworker, Scott-san and Makiko-san. He just became 1 year old.
Scott-san's family live at the TOKYO MEGA CITY housing complex.

今日 2009/11/14(土) は、以前の勤務先で同僚だったスコットさん、牧子さん夫妻の子供である、なおきちゃんの 1 歳の誕生日会に呼んでもらって行ってきました。
スコットさん一家は東京メガシティというマンションに住んでいます。

The party was held at the party room of the site. The room was decorated to celebrate the 1st birthday of Naoki-chan's.

誕生会は東京メガシティのパーティールームを借りて行われました。パーティールームはなおきちゃんの誕生日を祝う装飾がされていました。

Scott-san also prepared foods and drinks for guests.

食事や飲み物は、スコットさん達が用意してくれました。

I was dandling Naoki-can, but he didn't care about me and was interested in playing with a balloon.

私もなおきちゃんを抱かせてもらいましたが、なおきちゃんは私には興味がないようで、もっぱら風船で遊んでいました。

5 or 6 groups (about 15 people) gathered to say happy birthday to Naoki-chan. Most of them prepared present for Naoki-can.

誕生会には 5、6 組、合計 15 人程の人が来ていました。ほとんどの参加者がプレゼントを用意していました。

I also prepared gifts for Scott-san and Makiko-san.
Gift for Makiko-san was a Rieko Saibara's book titled "ああ息子" ("Wirra, my son"). I expect Scott-san will write Makiko-san's impressions (from son's mothers point of view) on his web site.
Gift for Scott-san was Domo-kun strap which I bought at Miyazaki Phoenix Seagia Resort. I hardly see Domo-kun goods, so when I saw this at Miyazaki, I thought I have to buy for Scott-san.

私はスコットさんと牧子さんにもプレゼントをもって行きました。
牧子さんへのプレゼントは西原理恵子の本、「ああ息子」です。息子を持った母としての感想を牧子さんから聞いて、スコットさんが自分のサイトで書いてくれるのではないかと期待しています。
スコットさんへは宮崎シーガイアで買ってきた、どーもくんストラップです。どーもくんのグッズはあまり見ることがないので、宮崎でこれを見た時には、スコットさんに買って帰らなければと思って買っていたものです。

When Naoki-chan eated cake, people surrounded him to get the right chance to shoot a nice photo. It looked like he is a TV star.

なおきちゃんが誕生日ケーキを食べる時には、参加者が集まってなんとかいい写真を撮ろうとするため、さながらスターのようでした。

At the last part of the party, Scott-san and Makiko-ssan opened present boxes. Scott-san and Makiko-san expressed thanks each time they open a box, but only few could attract Naoki-chan.

パーティーの後半ではスコットさんと牧子さんが、プレゼントの開封をしました。スコットさんと牧子さんがそれぞれのプレゼントに対してお礼を言ってくれるのですが、なおきちゃんが興味をひかれたのは、おもちゃのうちの 1 つぐらいでした。
